payment options (Link Point..)
Author ralf schwab on 09-15-2000 at 15:05 (EST)

i use in my online-shop several payment options.
One is the payment via credit-card.
I have a secure site at a provider, on which
i collect the secure credit-card data.
This site is at: https://www.securehosting.....
Now, i want allow the customer to use a
Payment-Button for Credit-Card-Paying.
For this i have taken the LINK POINT OPTION,
and put in the LINK-POINT-URL my
The Problem is, that users have to press the
reload Button on their browsers to make the
secure HTML-File (at https...) appear (first
there appears a HTTP 501 Error).
How can i realize a working connection via
a Payment Button ?

Thanks in advance
with best regards

See the following reference page for instructions about setting up the LinkPoint interface:

And if that doesn't solve the problem, submit a support request with the URL and your current linkpoint settings.

Hello Mr. Weiner,

i dont know if there is a missunderstood,
because the link-point option.
I have a SSL-Site at a Provider, called
Securehostings, located at
Until now (Ushop version 2.x) i had a link
in the order reciept where customers can use,
to input their credit-card-data, because our
shopping site
is not a secure site.
now i want to give the customer the ability
to choose as payment a CREDIT-CARD-BUTTON
(at the order-process).
They should be redirected after pressing to
the site,
on which we collect the credit-card data.
Please tell me how to do this, because we
recieve NOT a order, if the click on the
CREDIT-CARD Button. In the data-directory on
our server there is only a xxxxxx.TMP file, but
NO xxxxxx.order file, and we recieve no email
order !

Thank you
with best regards

Since you have your public store pages on your server, but want to have the secure server at handle the secure order process, you should:

1) Setup all of the public store pages and the uShop applets on your server.

2) Install the uShop 3.0 CGI scripts on your secure server at

3) Make sure that the "script_url" parameter of your uShopOrderButton applet is pointing to the script installed on the

So far so good?

Now as for the .tmp files, those .tmp files are created to temporarily hold the order information while the customer is being transferred to LinkPoint to enter his/her payment information. The .tmp files will remain on your server until the customer finishes entering the payment details on the LinkPoint server and is transferred back to your server. Once LinkPoint transfers back to your server, the .tmp file will be updated and renamed to the .order file.

Does that answer your question?

From looking at your site, however, it kind of looks like you don't want to use "LinkPoint" at all. Instead, do you just want to use the regular credit card option to collect/process the credit card information yourself?

If so, then in the uShop 3.0 Control Panel, be sure to set the "Credit Card Payment Option" setting to "YES" and the "LinkPoint Payment Option" setting to "NO".... and that should do it!

Hello Mr. Weiner,

i have on the secure server only a html-form,
but i have no ability to store there a
What i need is a solution for the following
The customer clicks (on the order-process)
Then, the script forwards the customer to
our secure html-file, where she/he can input
secure her/his credit-card-data.
I can configure on the secure host a url,
where the user is forwarded after submitting
his data.
My questions now is, what URL should i take,
that the user gets the THANK-YOU Message and
the Order is written as a .order file (at the
moment we only recieve .tmp - files).

Any suggestion how to handle this problem ?
