Clearing Affiliate Logs
Author Ron Harter on 10-01-2001 at 11:27 (EST)
I just tried clearing the affiliate logs for the end of the quarter and could not clear them all.
They used to use a 2-digit year code 01 and now use a 4-digit code. It would not let me enter the 4 digits for the year 2001.

Hello Ron,

I've not heard of this before as of yet, so I'm not entirely sure what the solution is. My recommendation is, if you are looking to start from scratch with the affiliate logs, simply go into your data directory and delete the ushop-affiliates.txt file and that should do the trick.
Also, if there are specific affiliates you need to delete, the ushop-affiliates.txt file is bar-dillineated and relatively easy to edit.

Hope this helps.

What I believe is happening is that when we updated the order date format to have a 4-digit year, the date format in the affiliate log also got updated, but the logic in the affiliate clear method was not updated. So here is a way to correct that:

STEP 1: Make a backup of your script... just in case.

STEP 2: Open your script with any text editor such as WordPad.

STEP 3: Do a search on the following line:

$clear_year += 100;

STEP 4: Change that line to:

$clear_year += 2000;

STEP 5: Save the script... as TEXT if your editor asks... and try it out!
