https script error v 2.1

Just transferred over to a new ISP. Bought an SSL certificate.
The system works fine when everything is on the public server, but transactions aren't secure.
When I move the to my secure server, it does not run properly. I get the copyright page, but

Content-type: text/html

appears at the top of the page, and it won't pick up the order.template etc properly.

Any ideas?

Things to check:

- make sure you transferred the script to your secure server in ASCII mode
- if you used FrontPage to upload the script, make sure there are no FrontPage extensions added at the beginning of the script (this is often the case)
- try running a simple test cgi script on your secure server to make sure your path to perl is correct. Take a look at this link for instructions:

OK, I made sure the scripts were transferred ascii, and chmod 755. As before, the scripts run, but the "Content-type: text/html" line still appears at the top of the page. No front page involved, strictly text editor.

check it out at

Next ideas? Server is Apache SSL running linux if that helps.

It appears your secure server is outputting the extra "Content-type: text/html" text instead of allowing the CGI script to do so. That is NOT the way it should work.

I would suggest contacting your web hosting provider, showing him the simple test script that you installed at:

And they should be able to resolve the problem.

(And no, the answer is not to remove the statement:

print "Content-type: text/htmlnn";

... from the CGI script. There should be a configuration setting on the server on whether the server outputs such tags or not.)
