Security and other questions

I have downloaded the trial version and have integrated it into my site - - locally and would like to add the Linkpoint interface so that I can publish it "to the world".
Please help with the following questions:

1. Is the "trial" version a version 3 (latest?) product? I have added all the applets locally and would hate to have to change everything immediately.

2. In the reference for UShop, it states that I need a "secure" server to place the CGI-BIN on. Is this really so? I'm currently using Linkpoint for CC processing and ShopFactory as a shopping cart. ShopFactory is not currently set up on a "secure" server (I run my own server)...the Linkpoint security is currently handling secure transactions at the point of credit card number entry. So, name and address info is not "secure", but the actual CC info is.

3. With Linkpoint, do I have to "disable" my current e-commerce setup to install UShop's? IE, can both UShop and ShopFactory run against Linkpoint simultaneously. I prefer to not be down while the changeover is taking place, in case I run into problems getting UShop to work properly.

If we can get these questions taken care of, I'm ready to become a "paying customer".

In regard to your questions:

1) If you are using the trial version of uShop 3.x, then when you upgrade to the full version, you would just have to:

- Replace all of your current class files with those that are included with the full version.

- Replace all three trial version CGI scripts with those scripts that are included with the full version. (Use your current trial version script as an example to answer the configuration questions - those configuration questions are the same).

NONE of your HTML would need to be changed.

2) If you are going to use one of the payment processing systems such as LinkPoint to process the credit card information, then NO, you really don't need to have a secure server. This is because all of the sensitive credit card information will be collected on LinkPoint's secure server... and the credit card information will never be sent to your server.

3) With LinkPoint I believe you can only have one shopping cart interfacing with it at a time. This is because you must actually configure the URL of your shopping cart via their LinkPoint configuration panel.... As shown in Step 2 - Question 3, 4, and 7 at:
