After downloading uTestTM, follow the instructions below in order to install/unzip uTestTM on your local computer and get started using uTestTM.


  1. If you downloaded the Windows Auto-Extracting ZIP file (utest.exe or utest_trial.exe), then begin by double-clicking on the .exe file. When prompted, "BROWSE" to the directory on your local computer where you would like uTestTM installed....and then select "UnZip". Note that the directory structure shown below in Figure 1 will be created where ever you choose to unzip it.


  2. Otherwise, if you downloaded the regular ZIP file (utest.zip or utest_trial.zip), you will need to use your own unzip utility to unzip the entire zip file into a directory on your local computer. Note that the directory structure shown below in Figure 1 will be created where ever you choose to unzip it.

  3. Once the files have been installed/unzipped onto your local computer, start up your favorite web browser (i.e., Netscape or IE) and do a FILE | OPEN to open the file "index.html" located in the main "utest" directory (utest/index.html).


  4. Upon opening the index.html file, you will see the main uTestTM page with links to the User's Guide, Applet Reference, Programmer's Guide, etc.


    5. Tip: The "Tutorial" link is an excellent way to get familiar with uTestTM and see how easy it is to develop an interactive test with uTestTM.
