  1. What is uTest? uTestTM is a developer's kit that allows you to easily create interactive tests and training programs for use online or on CD-ROM. It consists of a series of Java Applets and JavaScripts that plug easily onto any HTML page.

  2. What are the features of uTest? We have listed the main features of uTestTM on our uTestTM Features web page.

  3. What sort of question types can uTest handle? uTestTM contains a large collection of "Answer Applets" that can be used for handling a variety of question types such as True/False, Multiple-Choice, Matching, Short Answer, Long Answer and Essay questions. We've also provided a programmer's guide to help you create your own custom Java Applets and JavaScripts for answering questions.

  4. What sort of answer sheet options are available? Upon completing a test, users have the option to print, grade, email or submit their answers online. There is also a "save" answer sheet option, but at this time, that feature is only available to Netscape 4.x users.

  5. Can I customize the look and layout of the test pages? Yes! The uTestTM Applets can be plugged easily onto any web page - giving you almost total creative freedom when designing your web pages. See the uTestTM Demos web page for a few example test layouts.

  6. Can I customize the look and fields of the answer sheet? Yes! The look of the answer sheet is based on a customizable answer_sheet_template.html file. See Appendix A in the uTestTM User's Guide for more information about customizing the answer sheet template.

  8. Is there a trial version of uTest so that I can try it out? Yes! We have made a fully functional trial version of uTestTM available on our uTestTM Trial Version web page.

  9. What are the limitations of the trial version? The limitations of the free trial version of uTestTM have been listed on our uTestTM Trial Version web page.

  10. What would be the best way for me to get familiar with using uTest? The best way to get familiar with using uTest and see if it will meet your needs is to download the free trial version from our uTestTM Trial Version web page. It is highly recommended that you spend 15 minutes looking at the uTestTM Tutorial that is included with both the full and the trial version of uTestTM.

  11. Is there a limit to the number of questions a test can have? At this time the maximum number of questions that a test can have is 200 questions. We feel that 200 questions is adequate for any one test, however, this number can be increased upon request. Note: At this time the free trial version of uTestTM has been limited to a maximum of 10 questions.
