Urgent Help, Calculated Shipping is not working
Author Mark Bishop on 03-29-2000 at 03:57 (EST)

Since I upgraded to the latest version of uStoreKeeper, I noticed my calculated shipping based on subtotal is adding hundreds of dollars to the shipping amount. I don't know what is wrong as everything seemed to be converted over nicely in the upgrade.

Can you please tell me exactly how to type out the shipping string if I give the dollar amounts? In addition, I noticed in your on-line reference manual you use dollar signs on both the subtotal and shipping charge when before you only had dollar signs on the shipping amount. And, in the subtotal figures, the total price jumps down below the dollar sign.

Before I had the following and it worked okay until the upgrade:

Thank you.

As described in the Shipping By Subtotal section in the User's Guide:

It is very important that the first value in your shipping table is for a value of $0.00.

From verifying this with the code, however, that actually did exposed a possible problem with shipping in version 1.52. So we went ahead and added some additional validation checks to the subroutines used to calculate the shipping (relating to removing the configurable currency symbol). You can download version 1.53 from the usual place:

Thank you for bring that to our attention.
