Is it possible to have multiple VAT (Tax) rates?
Some (most) items at 17.5%, some at zero, others at different rates.

You can't really set a different tax rate for each item at this time, however you can use the "taxable" parameter of each uShop Input Applet to mark an item as taxable or not. This opens up a couple options:
1) Obviously, you could set the default tax rate to something like 17.5%... and then mark the items that have 0.0% tax as non-taxable by setting the "taxable" parameter to "NO". The only thing this won't solve is the items that have tax rates other than the default tax rate or zero tax rate.
2) The other option, which is not as straigh-forward, is to set the "taxable" parameter of all applets to "NO". This way, tax will not be added for any of the items..... and then you could actually incorporate the tax into the price of the product. On your web pages, you could put a note that "Tax has already been included in the price of the product" ... which may or may not be acceptable for you. ... just an idea...

Thought of both these:
1. Probably the easiest. There aren't that many items that aren't standard or zero. We'll probably mark them as standard and adjust the invoice manually for non-export items
2. Would work for UK only, but would screw up exports...

How about allowing negative VAT rates?
This would allow you to set prices inclusive of VAT and then deduct (at the relevant rate) for exports...

That's not a bad idea... but I believe there is currently a check to prevent negative VAT rates.
We will be revisiting this whole issue anyway. TBD.
