Original Message | AuthorizeNet CGI Script Problem Author Cheryl on 03-10-2000 at 13:10 (EST) | I've been using uShop successfully without AuthorizeNet,but have recently added it to a new site. I believe I've configured the settings correctly at Authorize.Net, and the shopping cart works fine on the site until I try to place the order. I then get a CGI Error "The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers. The headers it did return are:
Unrecognized character |

Did you set the file permissions again after installing it in your cgi-bin?

3. RE: CGI Authorize Net Problem Author Bill Weiner on 03-16-2000 at 12:27 (EST) | | Do you get the "Incomplete set of headers" error when you just try to go to the URL of the script on your site? That is, you should get the uShop Copyright page similar to when you go to the URL of the Authorize.Net script on our site:
http://www.uburst.com/cgi-bin/ushop_authnet_30.pl
If you get the error when just trying to get the uShop Copyright Page, then it is probably the version of Perl that you are using. If possible, try using Perl 4 (Most web hosting providers will give you two paths to Perl....one to Perl4 and one to Perl5).
Also, you mentioned that you had the regular ushop_cgiscript running on the server. Was this the same server? If so, then you may have just made a typo while configuring the ushop_authnet_30.pl script. That is, the ushop_authnet_30.pl script is very similar to the ushop_cgiscript....it just has a few extra parameters that need to be configured. So if you did have the ushop_cgiscript running on this server, I would suggest starting over with a new copy of the ushop_authnet_30.pl script and use the same settings that you used for your ushop_cgiscript. (Of course, you also have to answer the new Authorize.Net configuration questions...but those are pretty self explainatory).

4. Authorize.Net problem Author Cheryl on 03-16-2000 at 17:39 (EST) | | Thanks for your reply! I've gone over the existing regular script for uShop with a fine tooth comb in comparing them to each other. No differences whatsoever. I will try putting Perl 4 on the server and see if that makes any difference as you suggested. I'll let y'all know how it works! Thanks!

5. Authorize Net problem Author Cheryl on 03-17-2000 at 10:16 (EST) | | Bill, I'm truly a novice at the server side of things. My host says that all of the permissions are set correctly. The url for the authnet script on my server is: http://www.allforfun.net/cgi-bin/authnet_30.pl My host is also new to setting permissions, etc. and isn't certain how he would have 2 different versions of Perl on the same server without complications. Please email me if you are willing to help us out! angel1@pcangels.net Thank you SOOO much! Cheryl
