When you press the "Goto Listings"... the script will transfer you to the first category in your listings directory.

So:

Question 1) What is the URL that you configured in configuration question #3 ($html_url)?

Question 2) What is the name of your first category?

Question 3) Are you sure that the directory path which you configured in configuration question #4 ($html_directory) is correct? (ie. are category data files and category html files being written to that directory)?

Bill, Thanks for the reply. the url in #3) is http://www.chefsnetwork.com/listings/
2) I don't think that I have a catagory; I'm trying out the free version to see that it works before buying the deluxe version.
3) step 4 url is http://www.chefsnetwork.com/cgi-bin/udirectory_personal.pl and Html files are being created and written to in this ../listings/ directory.
It has to something wioth the urls as also the logo.gif does not work.I have also specified the correct url for the .gif file but for some reason it doesn't find it either. Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

With the personal edition of uDirectory, if your listings directory is supposed to be:

http://www.chefsnetwork.com/listings/

Then the following HTML page should have been created the first time you logged in to the personal edition:

http://www.chefsnetwork.com/listings/listings-A.html

I do not see that page at that URL... so I would suggest double-checking that the files are being written to the correct directory. (If necessary, use the full directory PATH as your $html_directory setting...so that the HTML pages get written to your "listings" directory).

Bill, Thanks very much for your assitance. I finnaly go it working ! and will be purchasing the deluxe version shortly. From your last post I realised that it was for sure something wrong with the way my directory stucture works my host server. The html listings-a.html was there ( as per my ftp program, so why shouldn't it show up from the browser as you had noticed ? Solution; I checked documentation with my hosts bluedomino.com and I found a comment that all html files must be placed in a subdirectory for html docs ? so I just moved the listings directory there and put the full directory url from the host server into #2. I'm still fairly new at web site page design and don't really understand that now when you type chefnetwork.com/listings/listings-A.html it finds the file when the file is really in chefsnetwork.com/public_html/listings directory...anyway it works which is the main thing. Thanks again.
