IE users unable to add additional items
Author icnjill on 11-05-2002 at 15:24 (EST)
Hi guys,

Well, this seems to be a new bug. In my shop at: http://www.ic-network.com/shop/

IE users are unable to add additional items to their cart. Inotherwords, the cart will only hold one item at a time. If a new item is added, it replaces the old item. This does not occur with NE users. Any suggestions on how to resolve this? My sales have been huge these days.. but I've had more complaints too.

Please email me your response to: jill@ic-network.com

We have replied to the email address you specified. Here is what we have observed:
we are unable to recreate the problem you are describing in IE 5 and IE 6 - to investigate this further we would need more details - what browser/operating system is having the problem. Let us know and we will look into this further.

uStorekeeper maintains customer session IDs in two ways:

1) By passing the unique customer session ID via hidden parameters when uStorekeeper's built-in category navigation/selection is used.

and

2) Via the use of cookies.

From taking a brief look at your site, it looks like you added HTML to the category templates to manually link users to different categories (the links on the left side of your pages).

This overrides uStorekeeper's built-in page navigation and uStorekeeper's ability to maintain session ids via hidden parameters.... Thus, this requires that customers have cookies enabled in their browsers.

So I would suggest removing those manual category links that were added to your category pages... otherwise, just state that customers must have cookies enabled.
