Is there a way to use Pay Pal as a payment option?

I don't think that is possible at this time - although you may be able to come close by implementing the "get_custom_payment_button_html" subroutine in the ushop.pl script to add the PayPal "Web Accept" button... it's just receiving the success/fail response which may cause some problems.

But anyway, due to popular demand, we have been looking into developing such an interface ourselves to PayPal. As it stands now, we have submitted a request to PayPal to receive additional interface specs as well as permission to develop such an interface. So we'll see....

We still haven't received any interface specs... but we did come up with a solution that utilizes the PayPal WebAccept button. This solution is experimental and does not ever return a response back to uShop so you don't get uShop's standard thank you page nor uShop's order reader capabilities (that's why we want the interface specs)... but if you would like to take a look at it, I'll email it to you a little later today.

PayPal now offers an international service. I am glad that you are considering adding this interface and would like to know of any development on that issue.

For stores located outside the U.S., it would be nice to have an alternative payment processing interface integrated to uShop.

I would be happy if you or some of your Canadian users would like to share their experience with me. Which service they use, available uShop interfaces and compatibility with the Canadian banks payment servers, etc.

Thanks for your excellent support.

We have put an "experimental" PayPal interface solution on our developer's page at:

http://www.uburst.com/uShop/developers.html

(See the 03/04/2001 posting).

So you may want to check that out.

I'm not aware of all the parameters that PayPal needs, but any such parameters would need to be added to the section on the example "paypal.html" page that is labeled "THIS HTML IS FOR THE PAYPAL BUTTON". You should be able to recognize how other hidden parameters are specified there.
