Is there a way to customize the Applets?

For example....
A client is selling baskets. When customers place an order they want some information from them. Such as, personal info, who it's for and Items they'd like included. Then the quantity and size.

Is there a way to make this happen with Ushop?

Here is one approach to a custom gift basket store using uShop:

You could treat each item in the gift basket as if it was a separate product that can be added to the shopping cart, using one applet per item, and associating details (color, size, cost, qty, etc.) with each item by using the applet that best fits the item characteristics.

For example, you could use

uShopInputApplet12 Option1

to collect the basket style type
(such as Birthday, Valentines Day, Wedding, etc), and

uShopInputApplet12 Option2

to collect the size of the basket
(such as Small, Medium + $15.00, Large + $35.00) and the gift message.

And then you could use various other applets for optional items that the customer wants added to the basket. There are many possibilities...take a look at all of the applets and see for yourself!

And as another option for advanced users, if you still don't find an applet to meet your needs at:

http://www.uburst.com/uShop/reference/applets.html

Then you may want to check out the uShop Programmer's Guide:

http://www.uburst.com/uShop/reference/programmers_guide.html

...which descibes the uShop API (application programming interface) which will allow you to write your own Java Applets and JavaScripts that interface with uShop. For your need to collect personal information for every product, you might want to check out the "example_form_javascript.html" example described in the 12/12/2000 posting at:

http://www.uburst.com/uShop/developers.html

That example shows how you can make your own form.... using just regular HTML... and then tie your form into uShop shopping cart via the uShop JavaScript Interface. So maybe you could setup a form for each gift basket to collect all the fields that you need.
