Removing Ship-to Info
Author Gary Torello on 03-04-2001 at 23:41 (EST)
Whenever a customer makes a repeat purchase the billing & shipping info seems to be "remembered" and auto filled in on the order info template. helpful :)

However, in our case we have repetitive "customers" (our ongoing cinsultants) who place an order with a different SHIP TO address each time.. Is there some way to wipe these fields blank so the previous SHIP TO address doesn't appear the next time?

TIA!

There is a way to turn the ability to remember customer information on/off via the $remember_customer setting at the top of the "ushop-lib.pl" file... but unfortunately, there isn't an easily configurable way at this time to have uShop remember the billing... but not the shipping information. It can, however, be done with a little modification to the "ushop-lib.pl" file... as described below:

STEP 1: Make a backup of your current "ushop-lib.pl" file... just in case.

STEP 2: Open your "ushop-lib.pl" file with any text editor such as WordPad.

STEP 3: Do a search on the following line:

$shipping_first_name = $key_value_pairs[19];

And delete that line and the next 18 lines (19 lines total) starting from:

$shipping_first_name = $key_value_pairs[19];

all the way down to:

$shipping_extra5 = $key_value_pairs[37];

STEP 4: Save the file (as TEXT if your editor asks)... and try it out!
