apostrophe in name not searchable

Bill or Edmund. I've enjoyed the simplicity and great value uDirectory has provided www.womensministry.net . I just found out that a last name with an apostrophe does not show up on when doing a search. At www.womensministry.net/directory - if you do a search for O'Connor (apostrophe), a result does not show up, even though O'Connor is in the Directory. Any suggestions???

Thank you Philip Rothschild, publisher@womensministry.net

I believe that is related to an extra security measure which removes all special characters, but single quotes shouldn't be a problem, so try this:

STEP 1: Make a backup of your "udirectory.pl" script... just in case.

STEP 2: Open your udirectory.pl script with any text editor such as WordPad.

STEP 3: Do a search on the following line:

$search_words =~ tr/'/ /; # remove any single quotes

STEP 4: Comment that line out by putting a pound sign (#) in front of it, like this:

#$search_words =~ tr/'/ /; # remove any single quotes

STEP 5: Save the script... as TEXT if your editor asks... and try it out!
