sales tax not caluating

How do I get my customer to reflect the NY State sale tax 8.25% on the order form. When the order form comes up no sales tax is shown, even though I have entered the tax amount in the general settings?

How do you prevent 2 people from buying an I tem when the quanity in stock is only 1 item. There is no amount shown in stock on the cart.

If you want to charge everyone in New York an 8.25% sales tax and everyone else 0% sales tax, then set the following field/values:

Tax States: NY,New York
Tax Options: 8.25%

Or if you want to be able to handle different tax rates for different areas in New York, then set the following field/values:

Tax Instructions: *Customers in NY must select the tax rate for their area.
Tax States: NY,New York
Tax Options: 0.0%,7.0%,7.25%,7.50%,8.0%,8.25%

In regard to you're question about preventing people from purchasing more than one of a specific product...because you only have one in stock, the best you can do at this time is set the "Maximum Quantity" field of that product to "1". This will prevent them from entering a quantity greater than 1...but it will not prevent them from just hitting the "Add" button twice.
