I never charge for "Shipping & Handling:". Is there a way to remove it?

See section 9.1 of the uShop User's Guide at this link -

http://www.uburst.com/uShop/reference/users_guide.html#ORDERFORMTEMPLATE

...it basically explains that you can customize your order form to fit your needs.

uShop comes with an order_template.html that you can edit or use as a template for you order form. To remove the shipping selection drop down box, just edit this template and remove the entire shipping method HTML code. (Look for the comments in the file as to where the Shipping Method HTML begins, and delete all of the HTML in between until you reach the comment that signifies the end of the shipping method HTML.)

There are various options depending on your exact needs.... the easiest of which being to set the "cart_show_totals" parameter of your uShopOrderButton applet to "NO". This would cause the tax, shipping & handling, and total lines to NOT be displayed in the cart. That is, the cart will only show the subtotal.

If you do charge tax.... then you'll still want to keep the "cart_show_totals" parameter set to "YES" (the default)... but perhaps you could just change the shipping & handling label to something that indicates that shipping & handling is free. The label for the shipping & handling indicator can be changed via the "cart_label_shipping_and_handling" parameters of the uShopInitialize applet. (Of course, the cost associated with shipping & handling will still show "$0.00".)

A third option would be to modify the uShop CGI script such that you comment out the portion where it outputs the shipping & handling line of the shopping cart. Let me know if you need instructions to do that.

I do use tax. I would like to remove the Shipping and Handling from the order process. But I would be happy if I could get this:

SHIPPING INFORMATION
Shipping Method:

removed from the email to the customer.
Thanks for great support.

PART 1

To remove just the "Shipping & Handling" line from the HTML shopping cart:

STEP 1: Make a backup of your ushop-lib.pl script... just in case.

STEP 2: Open your ushop-lib.pl script with any text editor such as WordPad.

STEP 3: Do a search on the following line:

sub get_cart_html

(This will get you to the start of the subroutine that outputs the HTML for the shopping cart.)

STEP 4: Within that subroutine, do a search to locate the following line:

$formatted_output = sprintf("%s %.2f",$currency_symbol,$totals_shipping_and_handling);

STEP 5: Comment out that line ... AND next 6 lines (7 lines total) by putting a # symbol in front of each of the lines. (Or just delete the 7 lines).

STEP 6: Also within that subroutine, do a second search to locate the following line again:

$formatted_output = sprintf("%s %.2f",$currency_symbol,$totals_shipping_and_handling);

STEP 7: Again, comment out that line ... AND next 6 lines (7 lines total) by putting a # symbol in front of each of the lines. (Or just delete the 7 lines).

STEP 8: Save the script... as TEXT if your editor asks... and try it out!

PART 2

To remove just the "Shipping & Handling" lines, the "SHIPPING" title, and the "Shipping Method" from the email receipt:

STEP 1: Make a backup of your ushop-lib.pl script... just in case.

STEP 2: Open your ushop-lib.pl script with any text editor such as WordPad.

STEP 3: Do a search on the following line:

sub get_receipt_text

(This will get you to the start of the subroutine that outputs the text for the email receipt.)

STEP 4: Within that subroutine, do a search to locate the following line:

$text .= "n$lang_shipping_informationn";

STEP 5: Comment out that line by putting a # symbol in front of it. (Or just delete that line).

STEP 6: Also within that subroutine, do a search to locate the following line:

$text .= "$lang_shipping_method: " . $shipping_method . "nn";

STEP 7: Comment out that line by putting a # symbol in front of it. (Or just delete that line).

STEP 8: Do a search on the following line:

sub get_cart_text

(This will get you to the start of the subroutine that outputs the text for the emailed shopping cart.)

STEP 9: Within that subroutine, do a search to locate the following line:

$cart_text .= "$cart_sh_label: $formatted_outputn";

STEP 10: Comment out that line by putting a # symbol in front of it. (Or just delete that line).

STEP 11: Again, within that subroutine, do a second search to locate the following line:

$cart_text .= "$cart_sh_label: $formatted_outputn";

STEP 12: Again, comment out that line by putting a # symbol in front of it. (Or just delete that line).

STEP 13: Save the script... as TEXT if your editor asks... and try it out.
