Incorrect Tax Calculation
Author onlinepantyhose on 05-14-2002 at 01:21 (EST)
I have found in my setup, that when a customer coupon is used, the coupon is deducted from the total *after* tax and shipping charges have been applied. This creates an incorrect total because the tax is calculated on the full price merchandise subtotal, not on the discounted subtotal.

Workaround suggestion ?

Currently:

1) If you specify the discount amount as a PERCENT OFF, then that percent discount is taken out before taxes are calculated.

2) If you specify the discount amount as a FLAT AMOUNT, then that amount is taken off of the final total... after taxes have been calculated. (Sort of like a gift certificate).

If you want to modify the script such that the discount amount (Item #2 from above) is taken out before taxes are calculated, then go ahead and submit a support request at:

... because the changes would be too difficult to post in this forum and easier to just give you via email.
