So you want to use a weight table to calculate the shipping charge... and then add a 3% for COD orders?

uShop does have a COD payment option (On the uShop Control Panel... look under GENERAL SETTINGS - PAYMENT OPTIONS) that allows you to add a "COD Fee", however, this "COD Fee" must be a flat fee... not a percentage of the subtotal.

If you want to make that "COD Fee" a percentage of the subtotal, then you will have to make a modification to your "ushop.pl" script, as described below:

STEP 1: Make a backup of your ushop.pl script... just in case.

STEP 2: Open your ushop.pl script with any text editor such as WordPad.

STEP 3: Do a search on the following line:

$totals_shipping_and_handling += $cod_modifier;

And change it to these two lines:

$totals_subtotal2 = &strip_letters($totals_subtotal2);
$totals_shipping_and_handling += (($cod_modifier/100.0) * $totals_subtotal2);

STEP 4: Save the script... as TEXT if your editor asks... and try it out!

Note: Don't forget to setup the "COD Payment Option" on the uShop Control Panel.... and just specify the "COD Fee" as the "3%" that you wanted.

Thank you Bill!

It's so easy. It works good! But it is possible to configure the script as following:

The minimum COD fee is 15 Euro or 3% of the goods value!

Can I show the COD fee as a separat position on the responder mail or better as an alert window after press the COD button!

Regards from Germany

If you want to ensure that you have a minimum COD fee of 15 Euro, then in the above modification, try changing the two lines from:

$totals_subtotal2 = &strip_letters($totals_subtotal2);
$totals_shipping_and_handling += (($cod_modifier/100.0) * $totals_subtotal2);

....to these 7 lines:

$totals_subtotal2 = &strip_letters($totals_subtotal2);
$cod_charge = (($cod_modifier/100.0) * $totals_subtotal2);
if ($cod_charge < 15)
{
$cod_charge = 15;
}
$totals_shipping_and_handling += $cod_charge;

And as for showing the COD fee on a seperate line in the shopping cart.... that actually gets pretty involved. Perhaps you can just change the "Shipping & Handling" label to indicate that it includes a COD charge too?
