3.0 COD orders
Author ronharter on 08-24-2000 at 17:24 (EST)
I like the idea of having a separate button for COD orders, but their is usually an additional charge for COD orders. UPS charges an additional $5.50. Is their anyway the cart can add this to the shipping charges if the customer chooses the COD option?
Thank you

We have received a couple other requests for the ability to add a COD charge....so that feature will probably be making it into the next update.

In the mean time, perhaps you can work-around it with the shipping methods and/or handling fees. For instance, perhaps you can have two separate shipping methods setup called something like "Standard Shipping" and "COD Shipping". And then adjust the "COD Shipping" charges accordingly to add in the extra COD fee. Of course, this would rely on the customer selecting the right Shipping Method, but perhaps it will do for now?

Thanks, I will look into doing that. We don't get many COD orders and many businesses won't accept COD anymore cause the customer can always refuse them and you are stuck for the charges.

We only accept them for UPS ground. I got burned for a UPS Red shipment that the customer refused.

If you are planning to make a option to ADD COD charge then please make this also available for other payment options. I'm going to use the other payment option for user which want to pay by a one time authorization collection. Because this option is also more expensive then payment width a creditcard it nice if i can add a extra charge to it.

Bill,

Thanks for the COD update. It works just like I wanted. I am sure that others will appreciate it also.
