SWITCH payment card
Author garylane on 09-17-2002 at 11:09 (EST)
In the UK we have a payment mechanism called SWITCH which is a debit card unaffiliated to Visa or Mastercard but very common.

How do I add this to the list of cards accepted in credit card orders so that the correct code checking algorithm is used (not MOD 10). Incidentally, we have no need for AMEX.

You can edit the "creditcard_template.html" file (located in your uShop data directory) and change the OPTIONS in the "cc_type" SELECT statement accordingly.

For example, to remove American Express and add Switch you would change the default HTML from:

< SELECT NAME="cc_type" >
< OPTION VALUE="Visa">Visa< /OPTION >
< OPTION VALUE="MasterCard">MasterCard< /OPTION >
< OPTION VALUE="American Express" >American Express< /OPTION >
< /SELECT >

To:

< SELECT NAME="cc_type" >
< OPTION VALUE="Visa">Visa< /OPTION >
< OPTION VALUE="MasterCard">MasterCard< /OPTION >
< OPTION VALUE="Switch" >Switch< /OPTION >
< /SELECT >

As for validating the credit card numbers, uShop currently has built-in algorithms for validating these credit card types:

MasterCard, Visa, AMEX, Discover and Diners.

At this time, it does not have built-in validation for "Switch" credit cards.
