Frames - No Frames
Author Pete Burford on 04-23-2001 at 04:45 (EST)
We decided to use frames for our main shop pages, but we need to go to a non-frame page so that the secure padlock shows up at the credit card stage (using frames the padlock doesn't show even though it is secure) (IE5.5)
I can do that ok, but if the user decides to hit the 'go back' button, it all gets messy.

Any ideas - other than 'don't use frames'?

regards

The padlock icon can't be shown in mixed security pages (like a frameset and an order form), but what you can do, is perhaps create an order form popup in an entirely new page. Sort of like a console window or whatnot.

If this doesn't suit your needs, I'd recommend you reitterate somewhere on your shop's main page that the order form is in fact quite secure and add a disclaimer noting the frameset won't show the padlock.

Hope this helps.

If using uShop 3.x, just be sure to install the uShop 3.x CGI scripts on your secure server...and everything will work cleanly... As can be seen in the demo at:
