Custom Shipping - Need help
Author Dale on 02-15-2002 at 20:02 (EST)
I am not a programmer, but have a need for a custom shipping template where I can have a flat rate of shipping for each State. This will make it easier instead of a gazzilion zip codes, I could have just 50 states.

Thanks

If you want, I could give you some times on implementing the "custom_shipping" subroutine in the ushop.pl file.... but since you just want a flat fee for each state, it sounds like you could just use specify "Handling Fee" with the "States Handling Table" option. That is, you could configure the "Handling Fee" parameters (on the uShop Control Panel under GENERAL SETTINGS - TAXES & SHIPPING)... to something like this:

Default Handling Fee: $0.00
Handling Table (States): CA=$2.00,CALIFORNIA=$2.00,FL=$3.00,FLORIDA=$3.00,GA=$3.00,GEORGIA=$3.00.....and so on....

This will cause the handling fee (which is listed under the same "Shipping & Handling" section on the order form) to be associated with the state.

See section 11.1.4 in the uShop User's Guide for more information about the Handling Fee settings:
