uShopLite problems
Author m6157 on 06-02-2000 at 07:28 (EST)
I am evaluating uShop and have several problems, but will address only one here.

My server uses a file upload wizard that allows file names of 20 characters or less. Those files such as uShopCart.class upload and work. Files such as uShopInputButton2.class can't be uploaded. I have tried renaming, ex: usib2.class, changed the html code on my pages to the shorter name and when the page loads, get a mouseover "file not found" message where the applet should appear.

Any suggestions for a workaround?

Thanks for the help.

If your server has an upload wizard that limits file names to 20 characters or less, then you will not be able to use that utility to transfer uShop class files to your server. This is because Java class files have the class name embedded in the file, therefore you cannot rename class files.

You will need to use some standard FTP program to transfer the uShop class files to your server.
