You are using uShop 2.x correct?

Well, in regard to showing more than the "subtotal" in the shopping cart, the other information - such as tax, shipping, and handling - are usually dependant on where the customer is sending the order to. That is, information that is not known until the customer fills out the order form. This means that the additional information will not be displayed in the shopping cart until the customer views the order applet at least once. So what most people do is just put a note on their "view cart" page saying that:

"Tax, shipping and handling charges will be calculated automatically when you fill out the order form."

As for seeing this information when the customer is filling out the order form, well, you can always just put a shopping cart applet on the same page as your order form applet.
