|You know it would be nice for existing USHOP clients to have a applet that will allow the user to payoff line using the same software without having to buy the Ushop Catalog program for $875.00 dollars when it is probably just another Applet. Seems to be it should be an option for Ushop current buyers or a add on...and not make us have to buy another entire program for using with the same program we already have.|
I have bought Udirectory and Ushop but I can't see spending $ 875.00 for a few more applets.

|The uShop Stand-Alone CD-ROM order process consists of more than "just another applet".... it is a collection of applets, java scripts, and html templates ... all specifically customized to work with each specific store. These custom components basically incorporate the entire order process that is normally configured/handled through the uShop CGI Script...including collecting customer billing and payment information, validating required fields, validating credit card information, determining tax rates, calculating shipping & handling, and more.... all without any interaction with a web server. Any quote you receive for the Stand-Alone CD-ROM order process is based on the time it will take to develop & test a custom CD-ROM solution for you're specific store/order process.|
Now if you are just looking for a way a customer can print the contents of the shopping cart (without purchasing a custom offline order process to handle collecting customer billing and payment information, validating required fields, validating credit card information, determining tax rates, calculating shipping & handling, etc.), what you could do is just modify the "template_cart.html" page such that the customer can just "print" that page if they want to print out the shopping cart contents. You could even customize that page to have a form by which the customer can manually fill out additional information by hand. Instructions on the page could tell the customer what to do (ie. print form , fill out billing information, and send to....). The regular "back" and "continue" buttons could be removed from that page by removing the "USHOP BUTTONS" tag from the template file.

Actually, last night I did just that and have it set up to use the actual order page with the secure online button as the normal USHOP and then under that I placed a button that says offline orders click here...and it takes them to a page with the java shopping cart and the remote buttons...and I instruct them to print this out...as step 1 and then a button at the bottom saying click here for step 2 and then it takes them to a page with the order form..which is java so it actually allows them to fill in on the computer and then I instruct them to print step 2 out also....then it has instructions on bottom to fax in step 1 and 2 for orders...
I do plan on getting the stand alone..but need to generate sales with this version and then I can upgrade when it will pay for itself right away. so I actually still give them the order online option..just now they print 2 pages and have to do the math themselves for the shipping and tax but works fine.
