Clearing customers Shipping address

Is there any way that we can make the software store the customers billing information but NOT store their shipping details.

We want ALL the BILLING details kept if they leave the site and revisit but we do NOT want any SHIPPING details kept.

Many thanks in adavnace.

The non-sensitive billing and shipping information is normally stored as a cookie on the customer's browser so that the order form is automatically filled in for them on return visits.

If you want just the billing...but not the shipping information stored... then you can make a slight modification to the ushop-lib.pl script, as per the instructions below:

STEP 1: Make a backup of your ushop-lib.pl script... just in case.

STEP 2: Open your ushop-lib.pl file with any text editor such as WordPad.

STEP 3: Do a search on the following line:

sub set_customer_cookie

(This will get you to the start of the subroutine which sets the cookie.)

STEP 4: Within that subroutine, you will see a bunch of statements beginning with:

$cvalue .=

Change all of the $cvalue lines that start with:

$cvalue .= $shipping_

To:

$cvalue .= "";

NOTE: In case the above line does not appear properly in this forum, that should be a vertical bar within the double quotes.

NOTE: There should be a total of 20 "$shipping" lines in this subroutine that you should make this change to.

STEP 5: Save the script... as TEXT if your editor asks... and try it out!
