Remarks on version 3.x

Hi there,

We still are testing version 3.x and came up some little problems and remarks from our testers.

- If somebody added a item to the shoppingcart and the popup message is set to yes a java window shows up with a message that the article is added to the shoppingcart. So far so good. But the popup window shows always with a Warning message. For most of my testers the first thing they thing is that they is a problem, that something went wrong. Is it not possible to change the text warning in a other message? something like: Message window! Is more friendly

- If somebody orders and forget to fill in some required information then he get's a blank screen with a message that say what's wrong and that they have to press the back button to go back and correct the problem. But if they go back with the back button on there browser the browser gives a warning that the page has been expired?

1) What "warning" message are you referring to? Are you talking about the "Warning Applet Window" message? If so, then no, we can not control that. If it is a problem, then just set the "popup" option to "NO".

2) A page "expiring" during the order process is something beyond our control also. It has to do with a setting on your browser.... in regard to how quick SSL pages expire.

Yes that's what i'm talking about. Is it not possible to give this warning applet window a other message!

If i turn the popup to NO the people think that nothing happened and they press the added button again and again.

Hmmm, then i and also my customers have to live with it.

Thanks for the answers

1) You can use the uShopInitialize applet's "popup_window_title" parameter to change the "Added To Cart" title in that window. You can also use the uShopInitialize applet's "popup_window_message" to change the "The item has been added to your shopping cart." message. But the "Warning Applet Window" message is added by the browser and can't be controlled.

If you choose to turn the "popup" window off... then you could use uShopCart2 (the small shopping cart applet) or the uShopCart3 (the "count" or "subtotal" applet) to indicate when items have been added to the cart.

2) The time when SSL page's cache expires can be controlled by the browser.... so it will depend on each user's browser.
