Increasing Item QTY vs adding line item in cart

Hi! another question....

Is there any way to change the shopping cart so that when a SECOND of the same exact item is "added" it increments the item quantity rather than listing the same item on a seperate line?

In other words if the user orders one white widget, orders some other items and then goes back and orders another white widget, it creates 2 line seperate items. We'd would much rather see ONE line item for a qty of 2 white widgets.

I'm afraid that this kind of output will cause foul-ups at the warehouse (order fulfillment point) and certainly don't want to have to review and "correct" each order.

Thanks once again!

Unfortunately, there is not an option to automatically combine like lines in the shopping cart at this time. We have, however, received a few other requests for such an option... so there is a good chance that feature will be implemented into a future release. TBD.
