Payment Methods Problem (to Bill Weiner)

Hello Bill. Many thanks for your great help.
It appears that the option you gave me works fine, but I still have a problem.
Your suggestion adds 20% (if payment to Ohio) to SHIPPING amount, and I need to add this 20% to the ITEMS SUBTOTAL, not over shipping. Shipping is the same because items always ships from Buenos Aires.
Is there in the script any line to modify regarding some like "SUBTOTAL(without shipping)*COD_MODIFIER" or so?. I'm thinking in try by adding a loop like "IF COD=true THEN subtotal=subtotal * 0.2" or so...It should only works if customer choose OHIO (COD) as Payment Method, and it should be avoid if customer choose BUENOS AIRES IN CASH....without affecting the shipping amount, ok?....but I'm afraid I don't know how to write this, and I don't know if it's possible and, if so, How and where to add this. Many thanks in advance again and best regards from Buenos Aires.

Ok, how about trying this:

STEP 1. Make a backup of your current "ushop.pl" file... just in case.

STEP 2. Open the "ushop.pl" file with any text editor such as WordPad.

STEP 3. Do a search on "if ($cod_modifier > 0.0)" in order to locate the area where you made the $cod_modifier change yesterday.

STEP 4. Replace all 21 lines that are between:

if ($cod_modifier > 0.0)
{
      (there are 21 lines here)
}

With the following code:

if ($cod_modifier > 0.0)
{
      $totals_subtotal2 = &strip_letters($totals_subtotal2);
      $totals_subtotal2 += ($totals_subtotal2 * $cod_modifier);
      &calculate_totals();
}

(yes, there are only 3 lines instead of 21 lines... but I'm pretty sure that is all you will need.)

STEP 5. Save the file (as TEXT if your editor asks)... and try it out!

I believe the above changes will add the 20% surcharge to the subtotal of COD payment type orders.... So see how that does.
