When using the custom java buttons in netscape the items are not adding to the shopping cart. The entire application works in IE.

Whenever the applets seem to function properly in one browser - but not in another browser, the problem is typically:

1) The format of the applet parameters are incorrect. (Some browsers are more forgiving than others).

Or

2) There is a problem with your CODEBASE setting.

If you send me the URL, I will take a look at it.

Wow!... That was a tricky one, but I believe I see what is causing the problem.

It appears the HTML pages on your server are missing carriage returns. (Viewing the source the page looks ok, but when saving the source with Netscape ... the saved page has no carriage returns). Normally, this is not a problem with HTML pages... but when you have JavaScripts ... with comments // ... then depending on the browser, it could result in part of your actual JavaScript functions being commented out since the // will comment out everything to the end of the line....and without carriage returns... everything is on one line. It may have also been causing a problem with the uShopJSI applet because I could see "document.uShopJSI has no properties." messages when typing "javascript:" in the browser's location bar.

I went ahead and saved one of your pages on my local computer so that I can take a more detailed look at it... but I wasn't able trace down the exact point on your page where the missing carriage return is causing the problem. I was, however, able to correct the problem by putting carriage returns after each line of your "addexperts()" JavaScript function.

Now it appears that you are dynamically generating your HTML pages, correct? I would then suggest that while you are dynamically generating the HTML pages, you add carriage returns "n" after each of your lines... or at least those associated with adding the JavaScripts and Java Applets to your pages. See if that resolves the problem.

It seems that the coding for the drop down menus in the navigation bar is interacting badly with the javascript for the add to cart. If you have any idea why this might be I would love to know. Otherwise I think we are just going to loose the drop down menus until we can find another solution.

Thanks,
Jordan

Before giving up entirely on the drop-down menus, you might want to just try putting the carriage returns ("n") after each line of your addexperts() JavaScript.... Starting right before the language="JavaScript" line... and going all the way down to after the onClick="addexperts();return false;" line. That is what seemed to correct it on my local computer... although, I didn't copy all of your menu gifs and stuff.... so I can't say for sure that your other JavaScript drop-down menus were working too. It's worth a try though.
