Original Message | "Time-Out" email being sent from AuthorizeNet Author Ron on 12-14-2002 at 21:35 (EST) | On many occassions this past month, I have been receiving emails from AuthorizeNet telling me that the customer's credit card was charged for what they ordered, but AuthorizeNet "timed-out" before the order could be completed.
I get no emailed order confirmation, however, I can find the order in my data directory on my server with all the details. Also, this order does not appear in my order reader.
Any suggestions?

RE: Time-Out" email being sent from AuthorizeNet Author Bill Weiner on 12-16-2002 at 05:11 (EST) | | When you mention that you "can find the order in your data directory", does the file extension end with ".order" or ".tmp"? I'm guessing the file ends with ".tmp". This is because the ".tmp" file is generated before the customer is transferred to Authorize.Net. Once the customer fills in the payment information at Authorize.Net and the accept/decline response is sent back to uShop, then the response information is added to the ".tmp" file and the ".tmp" file is renamed to a ".order" file. So if Authorize.Net is unable to send the response back to your server (ie. Authorize.Net times out), then no ".order" file is ever created and thus the order will not be listed in the uShop Order Reader.
So the question is why is Authorize.Net timing out? Most likely that is due to large amou nts of traffic on Authorize.Net's server and/or a problem on your server such that Authorize.Net is unable to POST the response back to it.
