Reserve multiple days and SMTP date/time
Author Darren on 03-11-2003 at 20:06 (EST)
Hi I have just have two questions about u-reserve.

1) Am I able to make any modifications to the script that allows me to "book" a resource for multiple days at a time, this would be usefull for equipment bookings that may be needed for up to a couple of weeks at a time.

2) When the resource conformation is sent via email, it doesn't have any date/time stamp and that is causing problems for some of our users who have large mailboxes and sort by date, can a date/time stamp be added.

Thanks,

Darren

In regard ot your questions:

Question 1) uReserve does have a "Recurring Reservation" option that allows you to reserve a resource over multiple days. To activate the "Recurring Reservation" option, make sure the "$gen_permission_level" ... located near the top of the uReserve scripts is set to "1", "2" or "3"... based on what you want. The default is "2":

$gen_permission_level = "2";

# 1 = Anyone can make reservations and recurring events.
# 2 = Anyone can make reservations but only authorized users can make recurring events.
# 3 = Only authorized users can make reservations/recurring events.
# 4 = Anyone can make reservations but no one can make recurring events.
# 5 = Only authorized users can make reservations and no one can make recurring events.

Question 2) Whether the email notification shows up with a date/time or not .... is really dependent on mail server. And in fact, I've never heard of a mail server that didn't set the date/time of emails. If you want, I could give instructions on how to add a date/time to the email message... but as for controlling the timestamp of the actual email... that is handled on the server level.
