"Back button reset form"
Posted by Chuck on Nov-17-02 at 12:32 PM (EST)
Since I switched to Netscape 7, whenever I use the template to place a new item on our site, and submit it to check for errors, if I hit the back button to make a correction, the entire form resets to a blank form. This is VERY annoying. How can I eliminate this?

That's very strange....and kind of sounds like a bug with Netscape 7. uStorekeeper is not doing anything special there, so it basically comes down to Netscape 7 resetting HTML forms when using the browser's "BACK" button.

Perhaps there is a setting in Netscape 7 to control that... otherwise, the easiest thing to do would be to just use a different browser when adding products to your store.

Bill Weiner,
The same discussion applies to this as the other one by me "Color on orders". Don't you folks ever get together to straighen out these "bugs"? Instead of fixing the road, you tell me to take another road! That doesn't sound very responsible.

As mentioned previoiusly, whether Netscape 7 does or doesn't reset HTML forms when using the back button... is not up to us.

I would recommend:

1) Checking to see if there is a Netscape 7 setting relating to resetting HTML forms or not.

2) Or just having the storeowner using a different browser when adding items in order to prevent the HTML form from clearing when he/she makes mistakes entering the new product information and press the browser's "Back" button.
