"REALLY, REALLY need Option with weight"

I've just ordered the storekeeper package, however THE biggest feature that I'll be loosing is the ability to have some type of option selection that allows for a different weight and price. The only option that I see will require me to tell customers that the cart can't calculate shipping for them OR to have multiple pages for the same products, only to show different sises and prices.

John,

uStorekeeper is quite flexible in shipping options. Can you be more specific about what you are trying to do?

Many of our products are available in different size packages, each size has a unique product code, price & weight. ex: Seed type "A" may be 2# @$5.95, 8# @$9.95 or 24# @$15.95

Currently the only way that I see to handle this is to set up a page for each size package and I feel that by creating repeating pages the prospective shopper would quickly get tired of seeing every item and description repeated 2,3, or 4 times..

3 . "shipping weights"

I set up 1 iten in my store and gave it a weight of 8.2 When I placed an order with a quantity of 3, I got a shipping price that = the 24# amount NOT the 25# amount.

How are the weights being rounded? If I understod the shipping rate table corectly, it should be translating to a <= total..

BTY, a sample of how uor store is currently done may be found at: http://www.food-plots.com

The intended use of uStorekeeper for this site will include seeds, trees and gifts..

The following example can be used to illustrate how the shipping table BY WEIGHT calculations are interpretted.

Suppose you had the following shipping table settings (and are basing the shipping on WEIGHT):

0=$5.00,5=$6.00,10=$7.00,15=$8.00

This is interpretted as: beginning with a weight of 0 the shipping charge is $5.00, once the weight hits 5 the shipping charge is $6.00, once the weight hits 10 the shipping charge is $7.00, and then all weights 15 and over have a shipping charge of $8.00.

This is equivalent to the following table:

0 - 4.999 = $5.00
5 - 9.999 = $6.00
10 - 14.999 = $7.00
15 and over = $8.00

So getting back to your question, 8.2 X 3 = 24.6 which doesn't hit your 25 # level in your shipping table - So that is why the shipping charge is going by your 24 # rate.

No, you do not need to setup a new page for each package. Try one of these options:

OPTION 1) Since you mention that each package has a unique product code (ie. a unique ID) in addition to a unique price and weight, simply add three product listings to the same page: Package 1, Package 2, and Package 3.....each with it own ID, Weight, Price and any other fields you want to be unique. Again... all on the same page.

OPTION 2) Otherwise, if you really want to try to put all 3 different packages in the same single product listing, you could try using the following settings for the product:

DESCRIPTION FIELD: (in addition to your product description)
Available package sizes:
2 Lbs. for $5.95
8 Lbs. for $9.95
24 Lbs. for $15.95

NOTES FIELD: Seed bags must be purchased in quantities of 2, 8, or 24.

WEIGHT FIELD: 1

PRICE FIELD: 2@$2.98,8@$2.24,24@$0.66

MINIMUM QUANTITY: 2

MAXIMUM QUANTITY: 24

I personally like option 1 best. Remember that you don't have to have an image for every item.
