"Illegal Referrer Page - error"
Posted by SweetSecretions.com Doug on Apr-30-01 at 03:22 PM (EST)
Hi. I have set up ustorekeeper for a client and it is working just fine from computers in two of my offices (and from my parents computer half way across the country.) My problem is that my client is getting the following error:

Illegal Referrer Page - The referring page did not meet security requirements.

I don't get this mesage but they do when adding one product to the cart but not when adding another product from a different catagory and they also get it when they try to log into the ustorekeeper-manager.pl

Any ideas? Thanks

It may have to do with the URLs by which he/she is linking to your store/control panel. Give me the URL and I will take a look at it.

Hey Bill,
The URL is http://sweetsecretions.com

http://sweetsecretions.com/cgi-bin/ustorekeeper.pl
(Problem for them with the Cum D'Licious product but not the T-shirts)

http://sweetsecretions.com/cgi-bin/ustorekeeper-manager.pl
(problem for them when submitting the password)

Thanks,
Doug

I took a brief look at your site and it appears to be setup correctly. I did notice, however, that all of your URLs do not have the "www" in them... which is totally fine... providing that customers do not use the "www" either when linking to your site. So maybe that is what your client was doing when trying to login and/or shop.

Bill -
That is it! The www is messing me up. I'll have to go in and change it around. I only hope that when someone conects without the www it doesn't have the same problem again. I'll let you know if it does just fyi. Thanks a million.
Doug

You should be ok if the links from your HTML pages to the script are consistent.

FYI: In a future release, we may be adding the ability to validate links from either URLs (with or without the "www").
