I would like the description field to be added to the inventory log. Is there a way to do it?

Below are instructions on how to include the product "description" in the inventory log:

NOTE: Because this forum has trouble displaying the vertical bar character ( &pipe; ) I use the word BAR in steps 3 and 4 instead. Just substitute the vertical bar in those steps in place of BAR.

STEP 1: Make a backup of your ushop.pl script... just in case.

STEP 2: Open your ushop.pl script with any text editor such as WordPad.

STEP 3: Do a search on the following line:

print INV_LOG $product_name . "BAR";

STEP 4: Immediately AFTER that line, add the following line:

print INV_LOG $product_description . "BAR";

STEP 5: Save the file ... as TEXT if your editor asks ... and try it out!

Thanks, that worked. I also tried adding
print INV_LOG $billing_last_name . "|";
and that seemed to work so I was thinking of adding all the billing and shipping address information along with the comments data. That would give me all the info I need to send to my supplier in the inventory log. Do you see any problems with this.

Those $billing and $shipping values don't get passed to that subroutine as parameters... but since they are global variables and will always be set to the correct values by the time the update_inventory_log() subroutine is called... you shouldn't have any problem adding all of them to that subroutine. So go for it!
