"shipping and handling charges on 3.0"

This is just encountered recently. please visit www.jambags.com/mac.shtml.

The problem is that if I entered the whole shipping information BUT leaving the country field blank, it doesn't calculate the S&H charges the way I wanted it. Choose 2nd day, it should come up to $12.00 ($10.00 shipping and $2.00 handling) for one order. But instead, it comes out to be $10.20, instead of just strictly $10.00.

How can I enforce that the $2.00 handling fee is still added regardless the content of the country field in the shipping information (if it is in the US).

Thank you
Arif

It sounds like you want to setup the shipping and handling calculations like this:

SHIPPING FIELDS

Calculation Type: Flat Fee
Shipping Name: 2nd Day
Shipping Table/Value: $10.00

HANDLING FIELDS

Default Handling Fee: $2.00
Handling Table (States):
Handling Table (Countries):

(Note that the Handling Tables are left blank)

Not really. I have already setup every shipping method is via weight formula. Everything is working fine, until I got my very most recent order that has a bug in it. This person filled out the shipping section completely BUT leaving the country field blank. This messed up the calculation. There is a bug in this part.

try it out:
www.jambags.com/mac.html

try it twice. One with the full shipping info filled out (including the country field), and one filled out but the country field.

Thank you.
Arif

I would suggest making the country field a "required" field. This can be done in one of two ways:

OPTION 1: Make the country field required by logging in to the Control Panel and then under "General Settings - Order Form", set the following fields:

billing_country: Country
shipping_country: Country

OPTION 2: Or just make the country field on the order form a selection menu... where the customer has to select the country instead of typing it in. To make the country field on the order form, simply edit the "order_template.html" page and change the country TEXT fields to SELECT menus. (I actually have the HTML to do this here if you want it... but I can't post the special HTML tags in this forum).

I need that html with the selection on the country field. while you are doing that, it would even be very much helpful to me if you can also add Company field in both the billing and shipping sections.

Thank you so much for your wonderful help

Hi there,

I would *greatly* appreciate it if you would e-mail me the html for the countries.

Thanks much in advance.

We actually went ahead and posted that version of the order_template.html file on the following reference page:

http://www.uburst.com/uShop/developers.html

(Check out the 10/24/2000 posting on that page).
