"Reading values for currency conversion"
Posted by Ben Muis on Jul-01-01 at 04:43 PM (EST)
I am using XE's currency conversion integrated in a site. The only location I have not been able to integrate it is in the 'view cart' page.

I am looking for a way to read the TOTAL value from the cart applet so that I can write it in a hidden field that then gets sent to XE if a customer wishes to see how much this total is in their own currency.

The whole thing runs smooth in the rest of the site already, so the basic concept of it works fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks and regards,
Ben Muis

By the way.......

the address of the existing site is www.transmittersrus.com.

Go to the shop area to see examples of the currency conversion.

Regards,
Ben

The only way to access the total on that page would be to use uShop's JavaScript API. In particular, the "getSubtotal()" function.

You may be able to add your own button to the page that "onClick()" initiates a JavaScript function that gets the subtotal (via the document.uShopJSI.getSubtotal() function) and POSTs it to your conversion service.

See the uShop Programmer's Guide for more information about using uShop's JavaScript API:
