Bill,

How do you assign the order number to display in the merchant's e-mail subject?

That would require making a couple changes to the "complete_order" subroutine of the "ushop.pl" script, as described below:

STEP 1: Make a backup of your current "ushop.pl" file... just in case.

STEP 2: Open your "ushop.pl" file with any text editor such as Word Pad.

STEP 3: In order to locate the area in the "ushop.pl" file where the email notification is sent, do a search on the following line:

# Send receipt to storeowner.

STEP 4: A couple lines down from that "# Send receipt to storeowner." comment, you will see the following line:

&send_email($billing_email,$settings[5],$settings[7],$receipt_text);

You can add the order number to the subject by changing that line to:

&send_email($billing_email,$settings[5],$settings[7] . " $order_number",$receipt_text);

STEP 5: A few more lines down in that subroutine, you will see this line:

&send_email($billing_email,$email_address,$settings[7],$receipt_text);

Change that line also:

&send_email($billing_email,$email_address,$settings[7] . " $order_number",$receipt_text);

STEP 6. Save the file (as TEXT if your editor asks)... and try it out!

To add the order number to the subject of the email receipt in the older version of uShop 2.x, here is how it can be done:

1) Open the "ushop_authnet_30.pl" file with any text editor such as Word Pad.

2) Do a search on the following line:

# Send email notifications.

3) Immediately after that line, add the following two lines:

$store_subject .= " $uShop_filename";
$customer_subject .= " $uShop_filename";

4) Save the file (as TEXT if your editor asks)... and try it out!
