"Problem sending orders"
Posted by pmilliken on May-06-00 at 04:46 AM (EST)
Heres a different one.

Even though the ushop_cgiscript.pl is set to "NO" in the place not to send payment details in the email to the storekeeper with the order details, I get all the credit card details sent unsecured over email. Nice. If it says to set this to no, why does it still post them?

I'm using the English UK version custom version on my unix server.

Also, even though my send mail is set correctly, I get a server error when I submit the order form, I get the email to the store(with the credit card numbers, sadly) but no acknowledgement as customer by email.

help please

There are three things to check concerning the payment information being included in the email:

1) Make sure the language version of the ushop_cgiscript that you are using matches the language version of uShop that you are using. That is, if you are using the German version of uShop, make sure that you have the German version of the ushop_cgiscript. Since you mentioned that you are using the English-UK version, then just make sure that you are using the "English" version of the script. (The "English" version of the script works for both the English-US version and the English-UK version).

2) A more likely reason for that problem, is that the $include_payinfo configuration parameter in the script IS CASE-SENSATIVE. So make sure that the value is set to exactly:

$include_payinfo = "NO";

"no" or "No" will not work. Make sure it is set to "NO".

3) And less likely a reason for the problem, but something to check anyway, make sure that your "scriptpath" parameter of your order applet is pointing to the ushop_cgiscript.pl that you think it is pointing to. That is, some people install various copies of the ushop_cgiscript.pl file on their server.....so just make sure that you are using the one you think you are.

In regard to your second problem concerning a "Server Error" rather than successfully sending the customer an email receipt: If the storeowner is successfully getting an email, then as a test, try putting that email address in as the customer's email address and see you still get an error. If you don't get an error, then it may have to do with how your server is setup ... possibly to limit email to addresses outside of it's domain.... (possibly for spamming reasons). If that is the case, maybe try "Scenerio 2 - Option 2" at:

http://www.uburst.com/uShop/reference/troubleshooting.html#CGI63

....which describes using your mail server to send email via sockets.

Did as you suggested, deleted the n option in the sendmail line, and ensured that the NO in include payment details was correct (it would be because it is the wizard's cgi created for me).

No change at all.

It does create orders, it does send my order notification (with all the lovely credit card details for all to see, despite the NO) and it still returns an internal server error with never a customer email.

Because of my difficulty in using my web host's https, I have duplicates in both folders at the moment, but I have been rigorous in making changes in both.

I also have technical support looking at my Cobalt as well, seems to be a prob with cgiwrap.

Any ideas?

In regard to the email problem, you may have misread my previous post. First try the email test (of using the storeowner's email address as the customer's email address).... and then try "Scenerio 2 - Option 2" at:
http://www.uburst.com/uShop/reference/troubleshooting.html#CGI63

(This is not the tip about removing -n, it is the one which describes using your mail server to send email via sockets.)

As for the payment information still being included on the mail notifications, I'm not sure what you mean by having "duplicates in both folders"? Are you talking about the ushop_cgiscript or the order files? In any case, send me the URL and I will take a look at it.

Sorry, I left out the part where the customer e-mail has always been the same as the stores, but no help there.

I will try the sockets option.

the site is at wwww.cloudcrafts.co.uk

Paul

Switched to sockets as recommended, got a sockets error, couldn't find socket, or somesuch, so I have reverted to original cgi

A correction:

The email I am receiving is not the storeowner notice of order, but the customer's acknowledgment (with his credit card info visible) I am not receiving any other notice of orders...

Hi there, almost there, have fixed an error on my server set up. all is working EXCEPT:

The credit card payment details are still evident in both the customers receipt and store notification emails for all to see, this is despite the NO in the send payment details line.

And lastly, why is there Kiitos and Tilaus and other giberish on the customer receipt, do I personalize these for my store, or what? Why is there no reference to these lines in your references for the ushop_cgiscript.pl

Kiitos?!?! There's the problem. You're using the Finnish version of the ushop_cgiscript.pl. (Incidentally, this is what I suggested you check in the item #1 of my first post ;^)

If you are using the English - UK version of uShop, then you must select the "English" version of the script from the uShop CGI Setup Wizard:

http://www.uburst.com/uShop/reference/ushop_wizard_unix.html

That will correct the problem of the payment information being diplayed on the email receipts.

Finnish??? How in the world did I end up with that one? I was positive, of course, that I had selected the English version. Oh well. Another bald patch earned.

Thanks for the help, it seems to work now, very nice, too. Paul
