"Unable to read orders"
Posted by chad on May-02-00 at 10:11 PM (EST)
When I place an order and hit send I get "Unable to read e:/waycool/cgi-bin/orders/U1918376377". I have exhausted everything I have read through the discussions, your FAQ, and online reference. All of my other scripts work fine. I've added read permissions, change the location of orders directory, put in an absolute path. The order is written to the directory but the message I get after hitting the send buttone is Unable to read e:/waycool/cgi-bin/orders/U1918376377. What else can I do?
Thank You

Continuing our discussion from:

Where you mention that you've tried all suggestions at:

http://www.uburst.com/uShop/reference/troubleshooting.html#CGI6

As a test, try moving your "orders" directory out from under your cgi-bin directory. That is, try putting it in your "waycool" directory and again set the order directory path in the ushop_cgiscript to the full path of that directory e:/waycool/orders/ -- This may get around the problem of the NT server not allowing scripts read files from the cgi-bin. It's just that if it works, then you'd have to be careful of the security note at:

Bill, I have already tried this several times. Do you all offer pay support? It seems like I'm having to repeat myself often in these forums. I have tried everything 2 and 3 times in the cgi6.html and I still get the same error. I realize I'm using the "free trial" version, but I will pay for support. I like your product and will buy the full version when I get this working. Let me know.

Thank You

Priority Email Support is available for licensed users only and only by submitting support requests via our support request form at:

http://www.uburst.com/supportform.html

Based on the information that you have posted, however, I'm sure that there is something on your server that is not configured correctly - either the permissions of that directory or the permission at which scripts are run on your server. You should consult your NT Server/Perl Configuration documentation.
