"one more request"
Posted by Mary Bolack on Dec-17-01 at 01:21 AM (EST)
I am wondering about how I could go about downloading and archiving old orders for my customers. the advantage of having them all come in complete by email all these years is that they could search them later if they needed to see an old order. (And they do that a lot.) But I don't want to leave orders on the server for a long time.
I realize we can search the notifications, but then we won't have the credit card info, and sometimes that is exactly what we need. So if I download them, is there a way to database them so they'd be searchable? Or could there be?
thanks....

Hello Mary,

Sensitive billing information *cannot* be sent via unsecure e-mail.. as e-mail is succeptable to hacking attempts. What you can do, although... if you want to download your text-based order files, you can find them stored in your data directory as .order files. In those files you can find the order and billing information.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
