Is there any change or possibility for a kind of affiliation program function inside the ushop applets?

A extra parameter to added to a order for tracking where order came from?

Marcel

Marcel,

That hasn't been one of the most asked for enhancements but we may include it in the next major upgrade.

Thanks, Charlie Edmunds

uShop does not have an affiliate tracking program built into it at this time, but due to uShop's flexibility, there are a couple things that can be done to integrate it with external affiliate tracking systems. Here are a couple ideas that may/may not work for you:

1) Many affiliate programs just need the order number and total once the order is placed. You could try modifying the "show_receipt" subroutine of ushop_cgiscript to display an image on that page. The image would essentially be a link to your affiliate tracking program and with the link, you could utilize the $uShop_orderid and $uShop_total variables to pass the order number and total.

2) As a more do-it-yourself option, you may be able to set up multiple order applets/pages and then make your own JavaScript or custom CGI script to handle linking customers to different order pages based on where they were referred from. Not simple...but in theory, possible.

In any case, we'll see about what we can do for the next release.
