"Another cgi script problem......"

I've gone through the messages here trying everything suggested including the test script. Still, I get the "Internal Server Error" message when attempting to display the page.

My ISP details the path for scripts -- #!/usr/local/bin/perl, which I've used. They say to place all cgi scripts in my local /cgibin directory -done that; The extension must be .cgi; done that; permissions to 755 - done that; transferred with WS_FTP in ASCII. All of this on the cgitest.cgi with the same results.

What's the next step??

I think that I'll answer my own message.

Through some experimenting, seems that the permissions on my 'cgibin' folder were not correct. Setting the folder to '755' finally fixed the problem. I also found that putting a space in the first line after the "#!" contributed to the problem.

Thought you'd like to know.

Mike
