"order template"
Posted by Norma Scott on Apr-07-03 at 08:05 AM (EST)
I recently modified my order_template file. 1. I added phone number to the Shipping Address area. Is there any way to require this filled in, but ONLY if the Shipping Address area is actually being used? 2. I am using the version with drop down menus for state and country. Is there a way for the first line to be blank? Right now, AK (the first state on the list) is default on both Billing and Shipping. Especially Shipping I'd like to have blank as default. 3. I've also added Canadian provinces to my "State" menu. It seems to look ok. 4. Since I've modified this file, do I need to make any changes to my order_reader file in order to see everything? Thank you.

We recently added such checks into the beta version of uShop 4 as part of updated LinkPoint interface.... but the checks will also work for other non-LinkPoint users. So I would suggest sending us a support request at:

http://www.uburst.com/supportform.html

And request ushop_beta4d.zip. The scripts included with that version... and the updated "order_template.html" file... will handle the new fields/checks that you're requesting.

NOTE: If you are using Authorize.Net, then you won't be able to use the ushop_beta4d.zip yet... since we have not merged to two new interfaces (LinkPoint and Authorize.Net) yet.

I did get the Beta 4 version in order to try out the Paypal interface. I will be installing it next week. My question is...in your above message does the updated order_template.html refer to the one I changed to add the shipping phone # or was there supposed to be a new one in the beta zip file (there wasn't)? Thanks.

I believe you need to specifically request "ushop_beta4d.zip" ... which is the Beta Version of uShop 4 that includes the updated LinkPoint Interface. (That version also includes the beta PayPal interface.... You do not need to use the LinkPoint interface.)

The "ushop_beta4d.zip" version includes a new "order_template.html" file and has the appropriate checks in place for drop-down selections.
