"uShopDiscount1 applet"

Posted by Jill Henry [mail@mountainvalleycenter.com] on at 02:39 PM
I am still working on "launching"my revised shopping cart site. I want to offer a 10% discount to our customers while they help me work out my bugs with the shopping cart. So..I created a new page just for them to enter the site and I put the applet below on it. 2 problems: The applet gif. does not show up and the applet does not apply a discount. What am I missing. The applet page is http://www.mountainvalleycenter.com/Discount1.htm.
I would also like to know how to enter a code in the applet to link the applet to my home page - as it describes in the info. But I don't know where to write in the link
Thanks so much
Jill

"class Ushopdiscount not found"

I just re-loaded all my 3.4 class files via Binary ftp. I am still getting the message that class Ushopdiscount not found. Yet I just loaded it onto my web under www.mountainvalleycenter.com/store/classes (ie. in the suggested directory)
What am I doing wrong??
Thanks for your help. This is the last thing I want to do before "launching" the new store on the old website - and I'm excited about linking the store pages.
Jill

I took a look at your site and noticed that you are calling the discount applet "uShopDiscount" .. . which I see is what it shows on our example page in the applet reference... however, the example HTML on that page is missing the "1". That is, the applet is really called "uShopDiscount1".

So to correct the problem, change your HTML so that the applet name is "uShopDiscount1".

As for making that "uShopDiscount1" applet a link, to do that you just have to specify the "link" parameter, such as:

< PARAM NAME="link" VALUE="http://www.yourdomain.com" >

PS. On a side note, since it sounds like you want the applet to apply the 10% discount to all purchases, I believe you should actually set the "discount_table" parameter of that applet to:

< PARAM NAME="discount_table" VALUE="$0=10%" >

Instead of your current value:

< PARAM NAME="discount_table" VALUE="$900=10%" >
