"help with a basic html problem"

hi.
this may be a little off topic, and i apologize if it is.

what i'd like to know is if there is a way to:

1) remove the web brower's ability to print pages from the current utest program i'm using only (ie, if i'm working on a test, i don't want to be able to print the page with the questions and correct answer, but i still want to print if i'm online websurfing)

2) remove the top menu from ie and netscape browsers (file, edit, view, favorites, tools, help). this way, there is no way for someone to steal the tests i've created)

i have already found a script that will disable the right click function, but i cannot find a way to remvoe the top menu, nor disable printing on specific webpages (i still want to print out answer sheets, but not test pages).

any and all help you can give would be appreciated.

thanks,
rich

In regard to your questions:

1) Unfortunately, there is really no way to prevent someone from printing one page and not printing another.

2) I don't believe there is any way to hide the top menu/buttons on a brower window that is already being displayed, but you can use JavaScript to pop-up a new browser window without the top menu/buttons. Below is an example (which will hopefully be displayed properly in this forum):

EXAMPLE HTML FOR A LINK TO POPUP A BROWSER WINDOW WITH NO MENU BAR:

< A HREF="#" ONCLICK="window.open('http://www.uburst.com', '_blank','height=400,width=300,dependent=0,fullscreen=0,menubar=0,resizable=1,scrollbars=1,status=0,toolbar=0')" > My Menuless Window < /A >

(To try it out, you may have to cut-n-paste the above HTML onto a test page.)
